EC2(elastic could compute)

In EC2, the term 'compute' refers to requesting AWS to provide a compute instance, which is a combination of CPU, RAM, and disk.

techincal we asking aws to create an virtual server🤔

virtual server is a solution whereby if we have a physical server (like a personal computer) that we want to share among three or four people, we install a hypervisor on top of the physical server to create logically isolated virtual machines. This allows multiple individuals to use the same server simultaneously. Similarly, in AWS, we create an EC2 instance.

If we request an EC2 instance on AWS, AWS will communicate with the hypervisor or virtualization platform of AWS

The term "cloud" refers to the well-known AWS public cloud platform. This is why an EC2 instance is referred to as a cloud virtual machine

Why do we have the prefix elastic ?🤔

Well, AWS provides servers that can scale up or down whenever we need them.

📌Finally, we can say that when requesting a virtual server on the AWS cloud platform, it is elastic in nature.

Types of EC2 instances😮

Include General Purpose,Compute Optimized,Memory Optimized, Storage Optimized, and Accelerated Computing.

Organizations choose the specific EC2 instance type based on their particular needs and requirements to achieve better performance and efficiency.

To create all these EC2 instances using the same method, we simply need to specify the instance type within the AWS CLI command. We mostly use General Purpose EC2 instances for our basic projects.

for your reference

To create a General Purpose instance: --instance-type t2.micro

  • To create a Compute Optimized instance: --instance-type c5.large

  • To create a Memory Optimized instance: --instance-type r5.large

  • To create a Storage Optimized instance: --instance-type i3.large

  • To create an Accelerated Computing instance: --instance-type p3.2xlarge
